2. Attendees explored pioneering projects spearheaded by the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE), illuminating pathways toward a brighter future on a global scale.
3. Attendees engaged with SMU’s exhibition booth to participate in lively discussions and cultivate meaningful connections.
4. Attendees took a pledge towards one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals at our booth and received a limited edition gift from us.

Osiris: AI-driven monitoring for healthier crops
Osiris pioneers sustainable urban farming with sensor tech and AI analytics, optimising crop growth and revolutionising agricultural practices. They are currently conducting three pilot tests: industrial machine monitoring at PBA Technology, IoT integration at Singapore Indoor Farm to reduce labour, and hydroponic duckweed farming with an alternative protein startup.
Founders Lwin Maung Maung Thaw, Kaung Nyan Lin and Kumaraguru s/o Sanmugam, are undergraduates from SMU’s Bachelor of Science (Information Systems).

Alterpacks: Zero-waste food packaging from spent grains
Alterpacks pioneers organic, biodegradable containers from food by-products, cutting waste. It replaces Styrofoam in supermarkets and explores medical and semiconductor packaging. Supported by Temasek Foundation, Alterpacks has won awards globally, including the DBS Foundation Business for Impact Grant Award.
Founder Karen Cheah graduated from SMU’s Master of Science in Innovation (Class of 2019).

Fogo Fungi: Re-using food waste to grow gourmet mushrooms
Fogo Fungi converts waste into gourmet mushrooms using innovative cultivation techniques. Their 4,000-square-foot indoor farm yields 24 tonnes of fresh mushrooms annually. With eight varieties and plans for expansion, Fogo Fungi serves hotels, restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets. They will soon launch a mini modular farm to educate on urban food security and waste reduction with edible displays.
