Li Jia

Professor Li Jia is a leading econometrician whose work bridges economics, data science and public policy. Internationally recognised for his contributions to financial econometrics and forecasting models, he has helped advance understanding of how economic systems, market risks and emerging technologies can be analysed through data-driven approaches.
 

Through his leadership roles at SMU’s School of Economics and the ResWORK Institute. At ResWORK, he leads research examining how artificial intelligence and large language models are reshaping labour markets and workforce dynamics in Singapore. His work combines econometrics, forecasting and data analytics to better understand the implications of technological change for jobs, skills, and economic systems.
 

Professor Li also serves on the editorial boards of leading economics journals, including Econometrica and the Journal of Econometrics.
